Quality control
The IEC standard is an international standard formulated by the International Electrotechnical Commission. It serves as the core driving force for global standardization in the electrical and electronic industries. Initiated in 1904, the Commission was formally founded in 1906, making it the world’s first international standardization organization dedicated to electrical engineering.
The IEC consists of national committees from all member countries and currently has over 60 member states, classified into three categories: full members, associate members, and affiliate members. Full members hold voting rights and participate on behalf of their respective countries. Associate members may attend meetings without voting rights, while affiliate members gradually develop standardization capabilities with IEC support.
The IEC primarily develops technical standards and is not a direct certification authority. The commonly mentioned "IEC certification" actually refers to conformity assessment systems such as CB certification formulated based on IEC standards. These systems are organized and implemented by IECEE to facilitate the international mutual recognition of product test reports.
